Latest Firmware Update - 30m height / 50m distance limitations

I'm updating the firmware as I type (75% and running). I did see an alert about 30m height and 50m distance limitations if I'm not logged in to DJI through the app? Is this a one time thing, or every time you want to fly you need to login? What if I'm offline (no Internet service)? Any tips will be very welcome.
