Watch the video below, first notice the red writing that shows a height, then when i press the down stick the quad doesn't come down instead it initiates landing mode, and when its coming down it does so at 0.04MPH all the time you can see the quad image that only appears when you are a few feet off the ground, its as if it thinks its 2ft off the ground.

I took the quad home and reproduced the issue at home, it seems to occur when the quad is over 100ft high, below that and the issue seems to be hit and miss

I refreshed the FW latest version (01.00.0800) and the issue didnt clear so i downgraded to 01.00.0700 and the issue cleared, I then upgraded to 0800 and again the issue came back.

Thoughts on why this is happening and if anyone else has the same issue

Is that the Air 3s?

Check the sensors on the bottom of the drone to see if one is obstructed, fogged, or dirty. The drone appears to be "thinking" that it's near the ground and entering landing mode.

Welcome to the confusing world of 'artefacts', where newer firmware upgrades end up introducing bugs lower down in the code. And some of 'em are stinkers that never get fixed.

Some of the ambiguity when releasing the FW updates just amazes me 🥺

Sorry, just noticed it’s the Mini 4 Pro DOH!

I’d tend to agree about dirty downwards sensors on the bird

Firmware updates get blamed for all kinds of things they aren't responsible for.
If firmware updates cause issues like this, everyone would be complaining about the same issues.
I doubt this has anything to do with the firmware.
Look at the red data in lower centre of your screen.
That's data from the downward facing sensors showing that the sensors are detecting something just below the drone.
Your recorded data would confirm this.

To fix the issue you need to find what it affecting or blocking the downward sensors.

Well here is an updated video, the older firmware 0700 still has the issue with the downward sensor showing height but the auto landing now does not occur, ive opened a return case with DJI, seems something just isnt right.

FYI there is no issue with the sensors, they are clean and have no dirt or marks on them plus i turned off OA for the test.

For what it's worth, setting OA to off doesn't affect the downward facing sensor that's used to put the drone into landing mode.

Something else not right with your drone as it’s showing a ‘low visibility, fly with care’ warning. We could see that the camera had pretty good visibility all the way to the horizon.

Low visibility is indicating that light levels are possibly not bright enough for obstacle avoidance to function properly.

After a chat with DJI support they have requested i send it in for repair, its still under warranty so hopefully they can sort it for free. i'll update this thread once i know more
