Linking iPhone For (Cellular) To Use For Maps

Can someone explain to me how I can link my iphone to get "Live" maps to the smart controller using personal hot spot?

Turn on your Hot spot on your iPhone
Turn on Wifi on your radio
Connect to the hotspot from your radio

Thanks, that's what I thought and what I did but the radio did not see my phone. It only saw my home wifi. I wonder if I need to restart the radio

Make sure your hotspot is using 2.4Ghz and not just 5. (not sure if that is an option on the newer iPhones) Also the hotspot on my old iPhone will show active when it is not if nothing connects in X mins. (I think it is a power saver thing) Cycle the hotspot on your phone then turn on wifi on your radio. It should show up.
