Litchi and connection to controller

Just a short question to make sure I do understand what I am doing correctly:

Normally, if the Mavic Air loses contact to the controller, the MA will return automaticly to the recorded homepoint (forced RTH after x seconds). If on a Litchi-mission (automated flight), it ignores the loss of connection and will continue the sceduled flightpattern (as long as there are no obstacles etc. causing it to crash).

Is this correct?

Correct!

But I have had the Aircraft head back before the mission ended, because of Smart RTH.
It does not know the mission just the battery level and the direction from home.
