This was my followup to a deleted thread:

OP:

Mavic Pro and Android phone with all software up to date. I calibrated the IMU and compass before the flight.
I created my first mission in Litchi and did my first flight yesterday.... and had the drone fly away and crash into a tree at the end.
My finish action was set to RTH. The flight went well, it hit all the waypoints and did what I expected. After the last waypoint it returned to the launch point and started landing, then suddenly flew away in reverse. I had my finger on the Sport button and managed to flip it and hit "up" and nearly cleared the tree - just too late.
I think I will set my Finish Action to None from now on and land manually.
Ok so what the **** happened?

My response:

It could possibly be an error in the way you programmed your mission. I have had that happen only to realize that I had it set to return to WP1 instead of home. When it finished the mission, instead of landing, it jetted back to WP1 and terrified me. This was almost 3 years ago. Since then I check and double check the altitudes and waypoints on my missions before pressing the play button.

I checked my mission, thinking I had made a mistake.
My last waypoint is above the launch point and at 40'. It actually stopped there and then started landing before flying off in reverse.

Ok, so it started landing and then took off in reverse? How much altitude did it lose before it started flying off in reverse? Do you have a copy of your mission?

It might have got down to 30'
Sorry, I made changes to the mission, I deleted the last waypoint and created a new one further from the tree - playing it safe ;)
I'll chalk this one up to a learning experience...

Im glad you learned the easy way and not the hard way. A few years ago, when first using Litchi, I didnt realize that Litchi missions were ASOP (my term for "above start off point") and not AGL, I accidentally planned my final waypoint 10 feet below the earths surface. I luckily learned that day that drones do bounce. That sucker hit the ground and bounced back up but didnt damage anything. It was an old Phantom. I still get flashbacks.

I noticed that you can easily get into negative altitudes when using the slider, so yeah watch those numbers.
I must admit I had a mild panic attack when the drone scooted off.
Fishing a drone out of a tree 30' off the ground is fun. I rigged some pool poles together with a noose at the end, snatched the drone and carefully lowered the wobbly contraption to the ground.
