Litchi. Odd pop up in screen.

Every now and then I get a message pop up in the centre of the screen that says something like 1.4x.
Does anyone have an idea what it's referring too? It cannot be zoom as the Mini 1 doesn't have a zoom control.

As a complete guess, some degree on digital zoom perhaps?

But as I said there is no digital zoom. Also it changes, sometimes it says 1.5x, sometimes 1.6x without any intervention from me.

It's more likely that it says something like +1.4, or -1.4.

If you touch an area on the video screen, it will automatically adjust the exposure level of the entire screen darker or brighter to bring that marked spot into proper exposure.

There's an X in the upper corner of the yellow icon that pops up around that marked spot. Clicking on the X cancels the spot exposure setting and returns the exposure back to a full screen average.

For example, if your camera is aimed level at the horizon the sky might be bleached over-exposed while all the ground features are too dark and under-exposed. If you touch a spot on the displayed sky, the exposure is darkened and now you can see clouds, but the ground details become even darker. Touch a spot on the displayed ground and the ground is brought up brighter to proper exposure, but now the sky is completely white and over-exposed.

I got it again today and it's definitely x and not +
However as you suspect it may have something to do with exposure. When I move the camera from the ground to the sky it goes from 1.3x to 1.6x.
Still unsure of why though?
White balance was set to cloudy not auto.
