litchi question

Im still lost because it says
Connecting Litchi to your drone

First, ensure you are using the latest DJI firmwares on both your aircraft and remote controller if you are using one. You can update the firmware using DJI Go, or for some of the older aircraft models download them from dji.com. Then, depending on your mobile platform, follow the steps below.
So it looks to me that Litchi won't run unless dji firmware is on your device.which me I have to download go4 and I can't get it to down load. I'm gonna breakdown and get a Mini
The only place dji firmware can go is in your dji drone

Right and Litchi says DJI firmware must be installed. So it stands to reason that litchi won't work unless dji is installed. oR DO i SEE THIS ALL WRONG

And where are you going to install that DJI firmware?
<hint> The only place you can install DJI firmware is ... in your drone.

DJI Go 4 is not firmware.

One more time.
Litchi and DJI Go 4 are entirely separate and completely independent apps.
It makes no difference whether you install one or both.
Neither has any connection to the other.

Hi

Yes. Litchi and Go4 absolutely independent
Programs and you can not run both of them same time but Go4 must be installed to your
Mobile device for different reasons
1st - firmware updates
You may be in the places where Go4 only
The source to check and update your software
2nd - Litchi communicate with DJI network
To do this it is use some info from Go4
And on Litchi web it is say to close Go4 app when you run Litchi but it is do not say you can uninstall Go4 completely

This is misinformation.
Litchi does not communicate with DJI or DJI Go 4.
Litchi communicates with the drone and gets whatever it needs from there.
It is 100% independent of DJI Go 4.

Hi
Please see below
This is from www.flylitchi.com

When starting the app for the first time after installation, you will need to be connected to Internet in order to register the app with DJI servers. Registration with DJI servers can be done without being connected to a DJI drone. The registration is done in the background, if the registration failed you will be notified with an error popup. Be aware that some Internet connections may have troubles connecting to DJI servers, in such a case make sure to try a different Internet connection (home wifi, mobile data connection, a friend's connection, public wifi, etc)

DJI never will allow you use their drones
With out getting some info and has some control over them. Like Control NFZ

I covered that in post #5.
But once your Mavic is activated (as I have said iover and over in this repetitive thread), there is no communication between Litchi and DJI Go.
DJI Go 4 is a better app for general flying and photography.
Litchi is great if you want/need some of its specialised functions.
But the idea that you have to have DJI Go 4 installed to be able to run Litchi is completely false.

(as I have said iover and over in this repetitive thread),

I was not being rude.
But when the same point is questioned over and over, I was just pointing out what the facts are and that I said what I said because it was correct.
It's bad enough that these myths are circulating but leaving them unchallenged only makes them stronger.

Hi Meta4

Please do simple test
Litchi do not have their own NFZ database
So please go to Zone A or B and try fly with Litchi
Litchi use DJI database for NFZ and you are not going to be able fly with Litchi at Zone A
About Zone B same way
In Zone B you need use Go4 to unlock this Zone and after that you can use Litchi
This is my personal experience

Please do simple test...
What would that prove?
Litchi is subject to whatever limitations are in the drone as a result of DJI firmware or settings you have made which are stored in the drone.

I am living in San Francisco
And there is Game place called AT&T park
There is very often big games and for the game
Time you can not fly your drone in the area of 5 miles around stadium
No firmware update no any downloads to your
Drone simply you cannot fly with Go4 or llitchi
For 2-3 hours
After game is done that Zone is removed
And you can fly with no any problems
And again no any downloads
Can you explain please how it is happening

Thank you

Also very quick question
You say “ limitations are in the drone as a result of DJI firmware or settings you have made which are stored in the drone”
How you will download everything in your drone?
I know only 2ways
Using DJI Assistant on your PC
Or
Using Go4
So Litchi web say you need make sure you download latest firmware. Ok you can say
Check everything at home before go fly
But I had many cases when I ready to fly
Go some were, start drone an Go4 and you need to do some updates
So that why I am saying you must have installed Go4 on your mobile device
There is many different scenarios why you need to have installed Go4 but with out Go 4
Installed and used for some cases it will be risky to fly drone
This is my vision and understanding
So anybody can do they own way
This is all about experience

Thank you all

The restriction is built in to the firmware, just like the 500 metre altitude limit or RTH behaviour.

You are talking about permanently created
Limitations
This limitations require by FCC and FAA
Wit out this limitations DJI can not sale drones
At USA

FCC rules are a completely different issue.
DJI's limitations are entirely voluntary and not required by government authorities.
There are other drones sold without those limits.

The DJI Go 4 app might alert you to new updates that you can install (if you chose to).
But you do not have to install them.
And Litchi will fly happily without you installing the latest updates.

I'll say it one more time and abandon this thread.
You can install Litchi or DJI Go or both but they do not communicate at all.
There is no need to have DJI Go 4 on your device to be able to run Litchi.
None at all, zip, zilch, nada, zero.

Over and out.
