Litchi Software Question

So I'm quickly immersing myself in the Litchi app and am understanding it without issue. One question I have tho, is regarding the lack of compass on the iOS app. I always fly referencing my compass in case of loss of video feed. My question is hypothetical... if I'm flying outside of RC range, I know the drone continues the planned route to ultimately come back. What if I cancel the route and go back to flying in P-Control beyond visual range. When you switch out of Litchi running the pre-planned route I assume the video feed stays solid, right? If not, what means is there to fly without visual sight of a video feed from the drone with the compass missing?
