Has anyone been using the Loc8tor on their drone? I have one and I am not sure where to fit it to avoid interference. Some early posts expressed concerns so I am looking for some feedback from users. thanks.

what kind of locator?

Yes I fitted one to the back of my mavic not realizing it was interfering with the rear compass, it became unresponsive and crashed into the top of nearby trees. I have just received it back from DJI following repairs and I am hoping to find somewhere save to fit it. I'm thinking top of the battery should not interfere with any electronics. On battery or on nose up top are good places.

Calibrate compass with it in place and it becomes part of the mavic.

Per your crash thread, you did not calibrate the compass after attaching the Loc8ter to your Mavic. You definitely need to calibrate the compass after attaching (or removing) metallic items to your Mavic.
