The park itself is a bit interesting. It used to be a golf course, but they went out of business and put the property up for sale. We approached the county about buying it and turning it into a park rather than having a developer build houses there. The county formed a public / private partnership with the local residents and bought the land. It is now being developed into a park. Pretty cool.
