Loops at back of Mavic

Does anyone have an idea about what purpose the two loops at the back of the Mavic were intended to serve?

I think they are just landing gear and the holes make it lighter but not 100% there was not another purpose for them.

Since the front landing gear are simple posts, the inclusion of an "eye" in the back ones seems "suspicious" to me.
