Hi-

Crashed my Mavic from about 15 feet. I ended up breaking the front right landing leg. The arm seems fine. Also the rear left arms appears to have a broken stop, I can rotate it up maybe 10 degrees farther than the left rear arm. If I simulate flight (equal weight on all 4 motors plus a bit extra for thrust) the arm does not deflect up, but in flight I am not sure that it will stay in its normal position. Everything seems to power up fine, I can run up the motors and camera/gimbal seem fine.

Questions.

1. Can I replace the front leg or do I need to replace the whole arm? Is there a source for just the leg? Could I glue it? The leds work fine.
2. Is there a repair for the rear arm? Would I need a new arm or just a hinge? I would like to get an idea of the extent of probable repair before I decide to take it apart or send it in.
3. One prop had dirt crusted into the hub. Is there any known issues with motor reliability after getting dirty?
3. What sort of calibration/testing should I do before I trust it to fly again?

Pics below

Thanks

Charlie

Thanks ff22, I had picked up on Thunder Drones browsing threads. I would rather execute repairs myself though.
I would still send T Ds the pics. He can tell you what parts you need and sell them to you, if he has them in stock.

Yes, you can replace just the leg or foot without changing the whole arm. I did.....I had to use a exacto knife to cut around the LED.... just cut enough to slip it through... it worked out perfect for me. I had to buy the whole arm but it cost me $22.00 USD.....from e-bay... I have a spare motor and arm if I need it.

Thanks. So the antenna wire is not glued inside the leg? It will slip out?

Theres a small dab of black silicone type glue on one little area. A exacto blade tip should cut through it. It's a pea size dab on top. You can see the glue on the antenna. Theres a YouTube on the procedure on how to just change the foot, if you dig it up

Guess you don’t need point 2 in your original post then.

There are plenty of people here to help if you need it.

Just remember- if you fail and botch something any repair will ultimately cost significantly more. Nobody enjoys to work on something that someone has had a crack at first and failed. You should expect to pay extra for that.

Actually I would like a best guess opinion on the rear leg. Arm, hinge or both? I will likely pull an insurance claim if my fixes go bad so I'm not in to terrible a spot financially. Besides I have been scratch building multirotors for about 10 years....

I’m sure you will do fine. It’s more parts fitting than repairing. A few tools and basic mechanical aptitude is all that is required to work on these things.
