Maiden Flight of The Mini

Outstanding! Stay within the limitations of yourself and the aircraft, and fly to your heart's content!

I took the mini up again over the weekend. Love this little drone!

Flew the mini this evening. Kept it close and fairly low at 150 feet. Had a successful flight and no problems at all. Wind was 8 mph at ground level with 15 mph gusts around 100 feet according to weather/flight app. I cannot wait to get another trip up. Maybe tomorrow.

When I take off I let it remain at the initial hover for about 30 seconds, then ascend up 35 or 40 feet, pause to engage with satellites and watch for a moment to see if wind is blowing it around much. If not continue up to 100 ft. Or so to what ever flight level I want to cruise around at, pause and see if wind is blowing me away. Most of the time you can determine what direction the wind is blowing from and how much it's moving the drone. If it is not moving much and rather steady I then will fly into the wind so if I run into trouble the wind at that level can help me get back home.

But, if at my pause at my intended cruise level the wind is moving the drone very much I come DOWN to a safer flight level or I pack up and fly another day. I use the weather apps, but I find they are not always accurate.

This mini is fantastic doing what it was designed to do within its designed parameters. Don't be foolish and then whine because you lost it. Your the one in control and your mini can't fix stupidity.
Let it live to fly another day!
