Mapping & Volume Calculating

Wondering if anyone knows what the best software is for mapping and volume calculating for like piles of dirt, sand, gravel, etc.

Are you doing this on a local PC or do you need a cloud processing service? Are you going to be using ground control points? Pix4d and Drone Deploy are the two biggest names in cloud processing but Pix4d also has PC software that allows local processing if you wish. Agisoft Photoscan (Pro) is probably the best for in-house processing.

If you want to start by trying some open-source software you can check out OpenDroneMap/WebODM. FYI a Part 107 certification is required for this type of work.

Was planning on doing it in-house and yes on the ground control points. Already ahead on the part 107 certification. Thanks for the info!!!
