I found out something and wanted to let you know, if you didn't know already.
When you scroll through the map while connected to the Internet, the map is cached and automatically saved to the smart controller.
So there is no need to download a true offline map, just turn it on at home and scroll around the area you want to fly next. Done. No Internet required while you fly to see the map. I always fly with WiFi off to reduce any chance of interference with the signal the drone needs.
I didn't know that before, I just realised that sometimes I see the map, sometimes I don't, but I didn't really care because I normally use the radar instead the map.
I read somewhere, if you use ios, that map cache will be deleted after reboot, but it looks like with android/smart controller, that data remains on the controller.
