That's right over the GPS antenna. You should mount it on the rear.
Got my Marco Polo from Amazon. It came with a 2 inch strip of velcro, and I followed F6Riders placement, only on the left side of the fuselage. Added a little "bucking strap" for extra security.
Yes that"s what I use on all my AC with the Marco Polo. It will hold tight, it could detach on a really hard impact, but the Marco Polo will be close by.
Here is where I mount it, I found it the best out of 4 places I tried. Doesn't get in the way of the props, battery, or SD card slot.

Someone could pick up the Mavic too with the Trackimo as well! Either transmitter won't help in this situation. This entire statement is incorrect.
Who told you trackimo is 60$ a year? Cuz it is only 5$ and first year is free.
Its the best stand alone tracker for the price period no debate
Marco Polo is nice if u can afford it but still its only a 2ndary tracker like the tile but with more range in my opinion. Cuz marco polo range is less than half the max range of mavic... ide like to use all 3 tho haha
If all you use is marco polo u got to admit there is some risk of ur drone getting out of range. Also What if someone picks it up and starts walking off with it before u get there etc etc
Why do people choose to get a tracker on their drone, just a more reliable way of keeping track of it, or more range?A few good spots would be to velcro it onto one of the arms or on top of the battery.
I may take a crack at redesign as I was thinking an enclosure would be more secure and aerodynamic if done well.
My idea was (still is) some sort of a tray built-in the rear extention legs. With a surface to put some 3M velcro to atach whatever you want... Marco polo, loc8tor, etc.
