Mavic 2 Pro cable for iPad

So I’ve been searching trying to understand what I’m missing here. I understand the side port on the controller is not a special connection just square (micro usb). I’ve read here the I could use the Apple cable on the USB port ( in the center of the grip) to connect the iPad but I get no connect to establish from that port. What am I doing wrong? Or can someone recommend a cable solution for using an iPad, Thanks!

Have you removed the little cable from the side micro USB port, this needs to be removed?

Try disconnecting the side cable. Only one can be used at a time.

Actually, you can use the side port and the bottom port at the same time. BUT only if you use the side port for charging including using a power bank. At least, that is what I've read here!!! (g) Folks have gotten extended power from the controller by attaching a power bank.
