I am controlling M2P with Huawei P30 Pro. Unfortunately I am encountering drone disconnections from remote control frequently. It is not related to distance as it happens also when drone is in near range, like within 100 m. M2P does not reconnect in these situations, but returns-to-home. Seems to me there is already a problem when establishing the connection M2P to P30. A prompt comes up asking 3 connection options, such as transfer files, audio and sth else. When clicking one, options are prompted again etc. Only when "cancel" the menu disappears.
Anybody knows how to fix that or if there is a known incompatibility and if there are plans to fix that ? Worth to mention that sometimes flight is normal without disconnection.
Thanks for any feedback :)

I have a Huawei mediapad M3 -- Similar, though weaker, architecture. Almost the same OS as the P30. The P30 is a CPU beast, so your issues can't be there. My M3 is rooted and completely de-bloated.

The USB popup is annoying. Since you are getting the popup with the charge, files etc means you aren't in developer mode. It will work, but isn't configured correctly. And as you know is unstable.

The popup you should be seeing is "Allow access to device data." I have the following enabled in developer options:
  • usb debugging
  • always prompt when connecting to usb,
  • Allow ADB debuging in charge only mode.
The last option is key.

Read the link above from @Meta4 -- enable developer options and select usb debugging ect.. It is hard to get it to stay in USB debugging at first. Set it, go to another menu option. return. set it again.

Check your USB cable. Huawei devices are sensitive about the cable. Get quality cable. A short one -- ~ 30 cm.

If your phone rides around in your pocket --clean out the USB port on that end -- carefully. GTS.

Use the bottom USB port on the controller -- not the micro on the side. The side port is fragile. mine worked for a day or two. Now all it is good for is charging.

Everybody must Read the link above from @Meta4 -- that is about as good as it gets for dealing with the options on your phone. That post should be made into a checklist and shipped with all drones. Too many people spend all their time looking at the DJI app settings and fail to tweak their phone or device settings. The DJI app is a memory hog. Treat it like a wild animal loose inside your device.

Finally, the drone disconnecting from the controller is a separate issue. Try flying with only the controller and drone. see if it disconnects.

Dear Meta4, dear grantiago, thanks a lot for your answers and passion to help me. I will explore your recommended solution tonight and will report the result. In fact P30 Pro is quite a strong machine and also for the display I like to use it. Also, it is supposed to support H.265 video downloading to the device, unlike iphone 7, which is my alternative option (no problems on the connectivity there).

I've bought 30 pro and I have the same problem, how did you sort this, thanks

When I got my m2 Pro I read in the literature that when connecting the phone (p30 pro) choose the charge only option.

I have always done this and in 4 hours of flying it has never disconnected. The drone went into rth mode once at about 5000ft but I think it was something to do with a flock of geese it detected.... Scary but interesting footage.

I hope this helps if you haven't sorted it already.
