Hi all, just bought a M2 Pro and been flying around all day and have noticed that suddenly, when I get any sort of wind notification, the gimbal will either drop or raise. This is not a gradual thing, it will just ‘twang’ upwards or downwards. I’m not sure what this is as I’ve never seen it on my old Mavic or Phantom.
As far as I can remember, this seems to happen when I turn into a headwind but I cant be sure.

What causes this problem?

When the aircraft needs to tilt nose down further than the gimbal's current position allows for becasue of movements or wind then it will get pushed down. Same on other models.

The phantom isn't affected since the gimbal is so low and free. The MP has a low speed limit in P mode so it will only happen when going crazy in sport mode. The MA does it all the time in sport mode, the M2 does it when you go hard or there's a lot of wind even in P mode since allowed speed is much higher = more tilt.

That does make sense!
Is there any way to avoid it or reduce it? I wasn't filming anything important here - just getting used to the camera and drone settings but if this had happened on something important, it would have ruined the shot!
Would this happen if you enables the 30 degree upward gimbal movement too?

Just know you can't center the horizon when you go full speed with headwind and set the camera down a bit when it's the case if you can't go a bit slower.

Hopefully DJI will change things a bit in an update since it's been standard up to now that P mode would always give priority to the camera so that this wouldn't happen unless in sport mode or when above horizon in P mode if you have the 30° tilt up option enabled.

So, if I had the 30° tilt up option enabled in P mode (which is what I use 90% of the time) I'd be far less likely to get this issue?

The only time my MP does anything similar to your video was during sudden braking, but it would not stay pointed down. Try repeating your test with the camera pointed down a bit and again with the 30° tilt enabled.

I was able to replicate your problem by pointing the camera all the way up and then rise up into a strong headwind. A gust hit it causing it to tilt forward. When it leveled back up the camera remained pointed at the lower angle. Try turning on the 30° tilt up option to give you a cushion.

I've noticed that this happens with forward motion. Yesterday, I was not in sport mode and I don't believe I applied full throttle. I'm going to watch for how much throttle it takes to cause the jump as well as in reverse motion.

The 30° tilt option doesn't change a thing - if any you are more likely to hit the limit cause there's obviously less margin when you're above 0°.

Yeap, I have the same results with that option ON. If used to have a drone that didn't have the same behaviour it's a bit annoying.

Did it today as well - wind was normal and no warnings. Getting bloody annoying to be honest - messed up 2 shots and by the time I nailed it in the third, the sun had disappeared behind cloud.
Like I said, bloody annoying DJI.
