Hi everyone,

I’ve been experiencing a waving/jello effect issue with my Mini 4 Pro, particularly noticeable in vertical videos. The problem becomes more apparent when zooming in, whereas my older videos (even when zoomed) don’t show this issue.

Some additional details:

  • I had a crash about a year ago and replaced one of the gimbal dampers with an aftermarket part from AliExpress. Now one of gimbal is original and other is Aliexpress one. That may be unbalance reason. But, in my home trials, there is no issue at all even when zooming much.
  • I suspect this might be the cause, but I’ve also seen others report similar issues without any gimbal replacements.
Has anyone else faced this problem? If so, how did you resolve it? Any insights on what could be triggering this issue would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

The jello effect is usually created by vibrations finding it's way to the camera...

So either something became damaged on the drone causing the motor rotation generate more vibrations than usual or the gimbal damper you replaced can't isolate the camera from vibrations properly, really think it's as simple as that.

Thank you for your contribution ! I noticed that this jello effect increased after i replaced one of gimbal damper. Original damper is one side and Aliexpress one is other side. That may be the reason of unbalancing. I gonna replace the other one with also Aliexpress one as well. I gonna also check the propeller situations carefully. I hope these will solve. I will add update here.

I agree with the other poster - I think the different damper parts are the root of the issue. The third party part may not be of the same spec as OEM, even if it’s visually similar.

Unfortunatelly, i replaced other one also with Aliexpress part and nothing changed. Still vertical videoas are wavy and horizontal ones are not even noticable. I replaced also propellers with newer ones. I gonna use ND filter to hide it by applying lower shutter ranges. Some of guys on internet say ND filter is much beneficial for masking the problem. At least i can mask this way
