My mavic 2 pro will take off and operate normally in half the locations i want it to. the other areas, it will disconnect after flying for under a minute or just wont connect to the app so i cant even fly the thing. last flight the app says 'disconnected' and the drone does the return to home thing. What am i doing wrong? is there anything i should be aware of that will show me that my drone cant take off in certain areas? none are in nfz. or is the drone broken? Any help would be great, thanks!

What device are you using? Have you tried using a different cable?
Are you able to take off using a CSC maneuver(pushing both sticks down and in for 2 seconds)? You are using the remote right? Not just your device using wi-fi?
I have had the same problem with it disconnecting or not connecting to the app. In the beginning I forgot to check the remote to see if it was connected but after I went from complete panic, I found that I could still control the aircraft. I changed the cable to my ipad and that worked for a while but it is starting again. I just ordered a different cable that is much shorter to see if that works better. I am not sure that is what the problem is but it is all I can figure out to do.
