Mavic 2 repair - seek help

Hey guys, my mavic 2 crashed a little into the ground today. The damage seems not too bad, but I'm not sure, if I should fly it before it is repaired? So far all the kabels seem to be fine and the lights & motions are functioning when I start the device. But it is crooked and I have no further knowledge on how to get it fixed. Is it possible to do it by myself somehow? Does this part need to be switched out by some proffesionell? Should I send it to DJI? And what cost should I expect? I appreciate any advice and tips.

The arm looks a little damaged BUT it looks to me that you only need a replacement "leg" its a cheap and easy fix Does the Arm feel funny when you fold it now?

from memory the big problem with this repair is getting the LED board out of the old landing leg and into the new one, my guess is that in manufacture the wires are soldered to the board, then the wires are fed through hole and the board then 'pulled' snug against the leg.
Without soldering I suspect that the only way you will be able to fit the old board to the new leg is to open up the hole in the leg and pass the board through it.
There are youtubes showing this but watch as many as you can find.
Heating the plastic with a hair drier might make things a bit easier. Ditto the glue that holds the wiring in place.

I would also check that the arm with the damaged leg droops to the same extent as the other front leg. In my crash I bent the pin at the top of the actual pivot and this caused the arm to droop lower than the undamaged arm. Replacing the pivot, if needed, is easy but there is a trick to it and would be the subject of another post.

Does everthing else work and does the drone connect to the controller and give video on the screen ?
One set of anntennae are in the leg.

I had a similar break on my MA 2 and used super glue to repair the damage.

The break was cleaned with alcohol and the pieces fit in place perfectly.

Your results may vary.

Unless your hobby or skill set encompasses electronics and DJI drone construction, why not let DJI repair this? The repair is guaranteed to work properly, the cost always seems to be very reasonable, and by the time you order the part(s), install the parts and test the drone (if the repair works as expected the first time), you could have had it fully functional and back to you with no angst for (maybe) a few dollars more.

Most likely they will replace it with a new or reburbished replacement. IMHO, the Mavic 2 Pro is one if the best drones they have made. I say this because I use Litchi for complex and completely repeatable missions.

Ahh I think I get the point and i've looked into some videos on youtube. Thanks for the detailed instructions! Everything else still works, the antennae seems intact!!

Yeah you have a point there. I just didn't know if the repair by DJI becomes pretty expensive or not, since I've never done it before. I will see, if someone I know maybe has the ability to fix it or if I think I can handle it/trust myself. Otherwise I'll definitely send it to DJI. Thanks for the advice!

I cleaned the surface to make sure the glue bonded the pieces together.

I don't have a "before" picture, but it looked like the damage you posted.

My MA2 still flies well and no errors In the app afterwards.

If the MA2 has the hidden screw under the LED cover you might give details of how you dealt with that.

I can't recall a screw.

It may have been attached and not compromised.

The leg was broken in two pieces and the LED may have been still attached to one of the pieces.

Been down exactly the same road with my mav. 2 zoom - the landing leg/antenna housing is an easy fix. Simplest solution for re-inserting the front LED panel is to use a Dremel and carefully open the circular wire hole in the new landing leg into a rectangle just long enough to allow the wired panel to slip through.
