My neighbor and flight buddy recently purchased a M2Z and everything has been great...until today. Three of the batteries, once installed, DJI Go 4 says that the battery is completely discharged and can not fly. When he goes to check the battery data everything appears blank. However, the batteries are completely charged and they light up the green circle when the button is pressed. When we went out this morning he had that issue with 2 batteries. After recharging all batteries upon our return home, the same 2 didn't work and a third developed the syndrome.

Any ideas?

Is the aircraft on the latest firmware? The last firmware update also requires the batteries to be updated as well. Newest FW is 0200..

It wasn't this morning but it is now, meaning that the batteries became "stupid" before the update, which was done this afternoon using the one battery that never acted up. It should be noted that it was impossible to do the update with DJI Go 4; he had to do it in DJI Assistant 2.

Once the aircraft and controller are updated, each additional battery will have to match the FW. The FW for the battery is stored on the aircraft after update.
All that is needed to update the batteries in question is when the app states that there is a inconsistency in the FW components. This you will see on start up with batteries that’s are not on current FW.
When update is requested, just move the slider to update the battery.

If battery firmware is out of date in relation to AC, app should indicate "firmware inconsistent".
Whenever updating AC firmware, also power up all your other batteries.

There has never been a warning regarding the batteries' firmware being inconsistent. The batteries went nuts before the update.

Then send them back to DJI. They have a 6 month warranty from date of purchase.
Hopefully you get your issue resolved.
Good luck! Let us know how it goes.
Current DJI warranty expiration from time of registration and or purchase.
