I cant even get close to 1.7 in my backyard (forest)

If you could find a place with total openess and able point your antennas to the drone and see how far you can go without anything blocking your line of sight. I happen to have the long island sound. 11 miles of openess.

Here in Europe (CE mode) my Mavic zoom is going up to 2000-2500meter on flat/no obstacle terrain. When reaching this distance, the connection became laggy and lost connection errors. I'm a little bit disappointed about it and curious if this Is normal in ce mode.
I point the antennas vertical.
