You can see here how the combination of coatings produces a lot of green light. It's not a terrible lens, considering it's mission in life and the type of camera build it is. A setup with swappable lenses or completely swapping the gimbal/camera as Autel did with Evo 2 series would have been, uh... expensive! Good thing they kept the price down on these. During development I remember hoping they would create a solid gimbal swap system beyond what Autel had with better data connection for easy, dependable field swapping. I bet DJI has some regret not going that route, vs the mismatched dual setup we have that will always be a bit weird on some level. I realize once they were committed to this design it had to run the course. Right now they would benefit from some deep SmartPhone makers multi-camera design and engineering. It's too late for the Oscar Madison/Felix Unger lenses. They are the odd couple, now and forever.
New plan: Considering the Evolve 2, and all ITS issues. So much potential there. But to outfit it right, I am going deep into
Inspire 2 kind of money and possibly beyond. But after $3600 on Evo 2 Pro/V2
Smart Controller that is a long way from where it should be and is getting just about ZERO development cycles, and the
M3 at $4200 so far, NOT including another $250 for Care Refurb, with all of the
Mavic 3's swing and misses, I need a plan c. Not sure Evolve 2 is the answer, but it could be. The remote build and features alone bury both of my "
wait, it will be much better when they fix all the stuff that needs to be fixed!" drones.
