Mavic 3 firmware problem mid flight

Hi there,
Yesterday I was flying my Mavic 3 in very normal conditions, the drone was flying as normal.

The drone was within transmission range at about 300m away.
When on the RC controller the auto firmware update started while the drone was still flying..!!

The auto firmware update stopped as there was no internet connection, then the drone started to return home, without any warning.

Fortunately the drone returned home.

Does anyone know why this was, and if you can switch off the auto firmware update if there is one?

There are no auto firmware updates.
But if you have auto-updating enabled in your phone or tablet settings, any updates could happen automatically without you realising it.
But you would need some internet connectivity for that to happen during a flight.

If you disable auto-updates in Android or iOS, you have full control over when (or if) you update.

Well I use the RC Pro controller.
And my phone isn’t connected to the drone.
So I can’t see how or why this would have happened.

Any other ideas?

The RC controller is an Android tablet with joysticks attached.
It must not have had auto-updating disabled.
This affects updating the Fly app.

If firmware updates are available, the app will advise and it's up to you to start them.

I also have had the Mavic 3 pro update in the background while I was flying in a Storm , I was surprised but i was near the Wifi and had no issues .
