Mavic Air 2 Issues

Hi,

I have purchased the Air 2 on the weekend and went through the process of setup. Downloaded the latest firmware and fly safe updates, but when it get to the last part of activation it will not let me bind my account with the drone? It keeps coming up with the error;

Activation failed Error Code: 0xffe

Has anyone experienced the same problem and were you able to get it sorted out?

There is another post on this board that references that same error code. Read it.

Try activating it from a different mobile device. If you see the same message, try contacting DJI Support for help. They might have blocked the activation on their end for some reason.

You need cellular service to fly the Air 2. That hasn't been the case before. could that be it?

I don’t think you do. My iPad doesn’t have a sim in it, and it works fine

You don't need cellular service to fly any DJI drone (including the Mavic Air 2).

Well, that's a valid point too. An Internet connection is required for certain functions. Most flying can be done with no Internet connection though.
