Could anyone help me out?
I’ve recently gotten my drone back from repair after crashing it and needing a gimbal/camera, two arms with motors, and the main shell replaced from another mavic air 2 that was taken apart for parts.
Everything functions perfectly fine, except every time I go into the DJI Fly app it redirects me to the Activation screen, and doesn’t allow me to see the camera view until I do so, but I keep getting the same error in the image provided, it’s been an week and it’s still not going away, I’ve asked DJI about this and all they want to do is for me to send in my drone and charge me more money on top of the money I already spent on the private repair. Please help, thanks.

Not saying this will work in your case (they may have done some sort of "reset" after the repair), but whenever I have had these issues with my MA2 (activation/unable to takeoff/etc), a simply power cycle the controller--but not the drone--and I get the "ready to takeoff" in the app/screen.

Thanks, I tried power cycling just the controller and keeping the aircraft on and phone connected, and it does in fact work, the go fly option appears, I press it and it takes me to the camera view, and 3 seconds approx pass and it forces me out of it back to the activation screen, I will attach the image

You'll probably find that this is happening because the serial number for the gimbal/camera no longer tallies with the original list of component serial numbers collected, stored and linked to your account when you first activated your drone.

You haven't specified whether the controller is the standard type (RC-N1) or the type with the built in screen, if you have the older type controller, why don't you try installing the FLY app on a different screen device which has never had DJI software on it, register a brand new DJI account using a completely different email address that you have created before you install the FLY app, then go through the activation process using that screen device... it might work... it might not, but you have nothing to lose by trying.

Failing that, contact the individual who repaired the damage, explain that while the drone operates mechanically, it is not flight worthy because it won't link to your existing FLY app account. It may be that they haven't completed the full process of software (python) recalibration.

Not beings mechanically savvy, although computer literate, I would simply send the whole package to DJI. The repair could not be more than the aggravation and loss of enjoyment. But that is just me.

Hi, thanks for the advice, I’ve tried doing that a while ago on a separate device and a different email, an I get the exact same results.

Also I did ask him whether or not he did some sort of ‘reset’ , and he replied saying that he did not touch the main brains of the drone at all(motherboard, flight controller, etc) All he did was take off two arms with motors and the camera off, then reattached ‘new’ ones from a spare parts mavic air 2.

I would guess that sent you a replacement refurb instead of your drone and it has activation issues. Happened to me twice but I never had activation issues.

I wouldn’t really believe that to be the case, as he’s a friend of mine and I visited every now and then to check up on the progress of the repair.

But the person doing the repair did not "match" the numbers. Until that happens you are stuck.
Potential issues with mismatched serials:
  • Calibration problems: Cameras are individually calibrated, so using a camera with a different serial number could result in inaccurate image stabilization and other issues.
  • Firmware incompatibility: In some cases, the drone firmware might not recognize a camera with a different serial number.
  • Warranty concerns: Replacing the camera with a mismatched serial number might void your warranty.
There are services online that will do it thru your computer it will cost around 100 bucks give or take.

Do you know any services available for DJI Drones SN mismatches, or any softwares that I can install of a computer and connect to the drone myself that would make the gimbal/camera compatible? Because the camera works fine functionally, just has errors activating

As far as providers, First, Did the person repairing the Drone Quote you a price. If so I would tell them to Do it. Probably won't happen tho. Perhaps Felix le Chat knows a reputable site the one I used twice no longer exists. I now only use DJI for gimbal issues! just saves headaches really.
NOTE: BE VERY CAREFUL and get reviews and feedback about the Drone serial matching site BEFORE you commit. You will need to give them remote access to your PC

DJI uses their own software called "RepairTool" to Match serial numbers. There are "cloned" versions for sale. It is what the online services are using.
The cost to buy the software if you can find it is around 50 grand last I saw I know of no place online that you can get it tho.
For what its worth the numbers are in the camera itself so if you put the old camera on the new gimble the error will go away.

I think the old camera is fine, the wires coming out of it defiantly don’t work as after the crash I had a black screen, the old gimbal however is long gone, if I could just place the old camera in the new gimbal with a new cable, I’d be more than happy to, that is if my camera is intact , which I cannot find out until my repair guy reaches back out.

Update: I managed to get into the drones info page in DJI fly,>Profile>Device management .
Something strange is that it appears for a second, then disappears for another and so on, the details also change, from activated 1600 days ago, to 0 days ago. The SN however is the same on the flight controller and aircraft according to the app, anyone help?

The serial missmatch is freaking out the assistant.
Until you pair the camera you are stuck...Sorry. The numbers that need to match are the cameras number to he main boards number. These are not the same as the aircraft and remote.

So the gimbal (new) can stay? But the old camera has to be connected to the new gimbal which has the wires coming out of it which attach to the main board? I just want to make sure as I knew it was possible to do a gimbal+ camera swap/replacement , but not just a gimbal replacement.

it is possible. You will need to purchase new ribbon cables tho Never trust a used ribbon cable!
If you are new to the repair I would keep what you have now and just get the numbers matched.
