Mavic Air crash/lost drone

Just to close the loop on this. DJI offered my a 30% discount on a Mavic Air drone, refurbished unit. I asked for a final price and they sent me the following:

Aircraft & Gimbal and Camera (White) $650
Intelligent Flight Battery $89
Propeller CCW $12
Propeller CW $12
Shipping $65
Total $828.00
Discount $228.90
Final price $599.10

I replied that their offer was an empty gesture since I could purchase a Mavic Air refurbished unit (complete with all accessories) for $639 minus 10% education discount with free shipping, final price $572.40

They replied that these prices are from their repair center, and are not related to the online store pricing.

Just wanted to put this out there - that their 30% offer really isn't an offer since the prices are higher than their online store.

Why do you think that 30% discount is unreasonable? There was no aircraft for them to examine and no evidence of any significant problems in the flight log. A battery disconnect is a likely hypothesis, and 30% is their standard offer in these cases.

I didn't mean to say they should have done better than give a 30% discount in this particular case. But if they do give a 30% discount, it should be a real discount, not some play on numbers. A 30% discount that is more expensive than a 10% discounted retail refub unit (sold by DJI themselves no less) is not really a 30% discount.

I don't understand that argument. It's 30% off the price of a new aircraft. What does that have to do with the cost of a refurbished aircraft? If you had been offered 30% off the cost of your Mavic when you bought it, would you have refused because it was still more expensive than a refurbished aircraft?

As per the OP (post #21) the offer was 30% off of a refub unit.
