I’m just curious, not being the ‘drone police’, as it would appear by the people walking around that the first site was open to the public, how did you get permission to fly?

All of the sites are open to the public, but there wasn't large numbers of people at any of them. Technically the first place I think I wasn't meant to fly at, however took off outside the restriction, and hey no one complained even when I saw one of the staff from it.

I just try to not fly over large crowds etc, and be safe.

Got no problem with that approach. Had a couple of easy going chats with Joe public when I was flying in the Lake District last week. They voiced no concerns and were just interested in the technology.

Yeah, had chats with people at all of those filming areas, chatted to one of the monks at Gloucester cathedral!

No one seems to care, had one person say "Your not meant to fly drones here" at the first one, but then someone that worked there wandered past while I was launching second time and watched it go up, and said footage is great from above, then wandered off, so they obviously couldn't really give a monkeys.
