Hi all just interested in your options/ideas for nav light mounting on the Air tiny little birds with lots of cameras to stay clear of as well as keeping them completely foldable 20200215_073118.jpg20200215_073118.jpg20200215_073001.jpg20200215_073034.jpg20200215_073118.jpg20200215_073001.jpg20200215_073001.jpg15817053782266587196606201018841.jpg15817054739294153739485960039304.jpg

We have strobe mounts for many of the popular strobes for the Mavic Air. You can find them on our website HERE and HERE

Ordered two front and two back from you for my MA - they are schedule to arrive tomorrow

ThumbswayupThumbswayup for Aerial-Pixel.

I have their mounts for my Arc2’s and Crees for both my Typhoons and M2P. 1 set of lights useable on 3 aircraft. Brilliant.

To the OP, I would avoid strapping an electronic device or battery to the top of the drone. For fear of possible compass or GPS interference.

What would be the benefit of having lights on top of the drone?
The benefit of having lights on top is that an aircraft above your altitude can see you more easily, against the ground clutter. I consider the bottom mount to be more practical, since it helps you, the pilot, see the drone - which is more likely to be the case.

I've tested strobe on top, strobe on bottom, and strobe facing forward and rear facing, with my Mavic Air. Aerial-Pixel 3D printed mounts for fwd and rear, and 3M Dual Lock low profile for top and bottom. Firehouse ARC 2 strobes, of course. Note that I usually fly with landing gear extensions, so I am limited to front arms when using A-P 3D mounts.

Also, about the A-P mounts, they do slightly block the view of the strobes from the sides, and top/bottom from the ground, especially if the drone is directly above you - no blocking viewed head on.

I’m still prototyping, but here’s my setup:

Tail-mounted anti-collision lights, and nav lights in the front to see which direction I’m pointed when at distance.
