I just did a vision sensor calibration with DJI Assistant 2 and it completed with a message at the end to restart the drone.
I tried to turn off the Mavic air 1 still on the restart screen and the cable connected - no luck.
I disconnected the cable and still can not turn off the battery/drone.
I really don't think I should pull the battery because it might burn some connections or worse electronics inside.
Should I put it outside in the cold till the battery dies??
This happening as I write

Google did not help - darn
I have decided to set it outside to die a slow death - should only be moments away.
I will try another battery after this one dies and reply again.

A thought just occurred to me before you bring it in from the cold? put it in a zip lock etc. plastic bag which is then sealed and the drone, the bag and the enclosing air can be brought in and warmed up. Might the air around it then be dry and it and the drone can be warmed up without condensation worries?

Thanks PhiliusFoggg sorry for the misunderstanding but I was inside doing a vision calibration as recommended by the DJI GO 4 App
It is taking a lot longer than I first thought for the battery to die - battery indicator is on the last light

There is minimal current draw if the motors aren't on...You should really eject the battery.

What about sparking to burn contacts on drone and what if something is going on electronically might ejecting the battery do something

If you can, perhaps start the props and let them idle? If you are worried about an accidental take off tie it down to something. If you do it indoors have a fan blowing cool air over the drone. The air flow (for cooling) may not be needed but it will not do any harm and I do that any time my drone will be sat powered up but not flying for an appreciable time

That does away with the possiblility of accidental take offs lol

Well with sweaty palms I pulled out the dead battery and did a visual inspection of everything and all looked good.
I put in a fresh battery and turned on the tablet and controller and then turned on the prop less Mavic Air.
It all connected as usual and there were no warning message - vision sensors normal now.
Looks like the drone survived and I will fly it tomorrow.

This is what I think happened I was outside and got the warning to recalibrate the vision sensors so took everything inside and then I swapped out my fresh battery for the battery I only use in the house - I had taken that battery out of use from previous problems - That where I went wrong!! The suspect battery now turns on and off but I'm pretty sure its the cause.
Phew - sure glad my Mavic Air 1 still alive - its a GREAT drone!!
THANKS all you guys for the support - I thought I would try here first then try Google LOL

There shouldn't have been a problem pulling the battery. Sometimes they do get stuck on. When battery is in communication with AC, AC has to confirm its ok to turn off. I've seen it sometimes where shutdown takes a bit longer than normal. Sometimes though it gets stuck and AC never allows power off.

So, especially if AC isn't doing anything, pull battery, then see if you can turn off battery. With another battery, verify AC state.

Thanks DanMan32 I had not heard of a battery switch sticking on - I will not use that battery for anything not even for transferring photos.
I was nervous to just pull out the battery and it all worked out well in the end.
Just want it to get light enough to go fly

Just curious. Did the Air pass the Vision sensor calibration? The Air is notorious for failing even when all is working well as can easily be established by doing a field test.

For me...it's much easier to pull the SD card and I'm sure it's easier on the drone and battery when transferring data.

Yes to Mavic Air 1 did complete the Vision sensor calibration.

By field test do you mean if any errors show up when the drone and controller are connected and ready to fly?
I do not get any error messages and the Vision sensors are showing as normal.

Ya I usually remove the micro SD card also ..... but if I want to a recalibration then I would put in my worn out battery(to save wear and tear on my good batteries)

Uuuum could I suggest that the relevant people change "pull the SD card" to "remove the mSD" card. This is just in case anyone should take "pull" literally. I presume "pull", in this sense, is an Americanism, as this board is read by non English speakers "remove" is perhaps better.

I know it sounds like I am nitt picking but better safe than sorry. Someone unfamiliar with these cards and their holder might ..........
