Mavic cutting out

Hey guys, I’m new to flying drones, purchased a pro a few weeks ago, all had been going great until yesterday, I was flying it out in some paddocks near home, I got to about 500m away, all of a sudden my drone disconnected from the remote, luckily it engaged in fly home mode and came back but I was wondering why this may have happened at such a small distance away?

For the record, no transmission towers or phone towers around, the odd tree but it wasn’t a bushland area.

You could post your flight log here (within thread) to determine if there is any information that could be used to determine why the disconnection happened.

Make sure the antennas are set it up correctly and pointing to the aircraft.

Amazed at how many people think the tip of the antenna should be pointing at the AC, not the flat of the antenna. The flat should be perpendicular to the AC.

I agree....I’ve actually read posts here where people fly without even unfolding them at all!

It works for me without issues before but i always make sure that the antennas are unfolded when the Mavic goes far away.
