thanks mate, was in fact wondering if there is any independent drone specialist that can do the repair...
I think you will just have to keep trying, as 'my' feeling is that parts supply to the trade is still uncertain. Remember that initially they didn't release the complete units to the trade, who had paid in advance.
If you look on the DJI site for their service agents, the only one listed for the UK is Drone Doctor in Brighton. A week ago, maybe 2 weeks, they told me they wouldn't do Warranty work - I got the impression they couldn't make a profit from it. They also couldn't do repair work because they didn't have a supply of parts.
Heliguy on the East Coast is someone I spoke to before Drone Doctor. At the time they were extremely miffed about DJI having had a large amount of money from them, for some time, and then DJI cutting them out by offering to supply directly to end users.
Again, they say they do repair work, but do they have the parts?
For both, you have to ask what their hourly rate is, or how they cost repair time. I suspect the prices of parts, when available, will be the same from all traders tied into DJI, as these two are.
In both cases, ask them directly about availability, and don't forget the answer may change in a week or a fortnight.
If both say NO straight away then I think your best choice is the tough one, and ask DJI for a paid for repair.
Are you aware the gimbal plate is available as a 3D printed part?
3D Printable Gimbal Plate
DJI Mavic Gimbal Plate by cambunch .
That does mean a DIY repair, and probably a voided warranty. At this stage in the life of your machine are you really ready for that?
Hope this helps.
