Mavic mini starting order

That’s interesting because I always wondered to what degree of accuracy this method is and how important is that. How accurate is your eye?

I know standing at my door which way is north or can pull out my iPhone which seems to be pretty accurate but to what degree of accuracy does it really need to be.

The control system seems to be able to compensate if the yaw error is less than 15° or so, which is pretty easy to notice.

Just curious but just how many flight schools have you attended to say that.?

?

At the moment three ... two ATOS (pilot, drone operator, radio operator, ..)
Aeromedia - Empresa lider en el sector de los drones
recognized by the National and European air authority Aesa:
AESA: https://www.seguridadaerea.gob.es/lang_castellano/home.aspx and the National Pilots Union. "Sepla".
http://www.sepla.es/es/

And I still believe that I know little about our world. ;)

Turn on RC, aircraft and open Flight App in that order ... at least with my M2P and others with FCC / CE Transmission (2.4 - 5.8 Ghz).
It is a way of ensuring ... (especially if you are flying accompanied by other aircraft ..) that your aircraft connects only to your RC (if there is another Rc already on ... and you start your aircraft before your RC, it can It happens that your aircraft is linked to these other RC and NOT yours ... it is rare, unlikely ... but it can happen). That firing sequence will get rid of it.
With the MM, since its channel is via wifi, it could save you some fright.
In my particular case, I have never had any problem with flight logs (DAT files).
Now well, each one that makes the sequence that they consider acceptable.

If they don’t have physical access to the aircraft I don’t think they can link to it at least in the case of MP2. You have to push the link button.

Right, Done.. at least on M2P.
But .. (that order and those reasons ..) is what they have taught me (I suppose it is valid for other generic models ..)
And I never question the advice of professional pilots from an official school ...
I hope that if someone has done it differently (as I have read in this thread) and shares their experiences ... It will serve us all and we will learn much more ... It never hurts to question the "system" from time to time. .

Ok,you said taught ...in all flight schools...afraid that’s only
a couple and I was just poking ya. ?
And I still say it does not matter or ever has with any DJI drone how you start it up unless you
take into consider sar’s input on why to do other wise.
I know a little bit about our world also and a lot about
these drones especially Wi-Fi being I have had about half
a dozen of em. ?

The sign south of town say no services for 70 miles. Luckily I have no issues with no fly zones ;)
If you do it right and set things up in advance you don’t need an Internet connection to unlock.

What seems to work best for me i:
1. Turn on drone
2. Turn on controller
3. Plug in phone
4. Run shortcut that turns on airplane mode, turns off WiFi, turns on do not disturb, turn off bluetooth and open DJI fly.
By the time I'm ready to fly, satellites are synced.
When I'm done I run a shortcut that puts everything back to normal.

i guess we are all different
my method is rc connected to device first (then turn on rc)
when screen says rc connected start drone
then wait for the screen to change to the camera view
and then i always turn off the drone first
i guess it stems from my early RC days when you always started the controller first then your plane car boat etc and then turned things off in reverse as it prevented someone from taking control of your plane car etc if they were on the same frequency and it has stuck

Same here, for same reasons, from back in RC days! Probably not necessary with the handshaking going on between the mini, the controller, and the app, but merely habit.

I remember reading somewhere that you always make sure the controller is on before starting the MM and shut off after the MM is powered off.
That way the controller is always available in case the drone decides to take off on it's own.

Take off on it’s own? You mean without any command issued? Please site a case of this. Never heard of it.... don’t claim to have seen it all.

Yeah. I meant to put a ? at the end.
Besides. One would never take off suddenly.
They just suddenly fall from the sky. ?

With my M2P and CS I usually start the drone first and then controller and CS ... because I don’t want to walk back and forth unnecessarily .....on the first battery.
Only the drone is restarted due to battery change for subsequent sequential flights. I have done things in different order in the past... all features seem to work regardless.

The one good reason I have heard here for a specific startup order is that of logging when something goes wrong. By starting your controller and app before the AC you capture the AC startup process in the logs. This could be valuable in determining what happened in a catastrophic event. However, it might reduce the time the AC has to acquire satellites before you are able to take off so a check of GPS coverage and a proper home point recorded remains a must. On a side note, I have turned off auto sync and added the downloading of flight logs upon return home to my work flow. The apps will erase them once synced so I only sync if necessary and upload the flights I want to view in Airdata manually. Just my take....

You pretty much have to start the Ac first if you have an SC and an M2P
If you don’t you won’t get video feed. Also there’s a feature if you start the AC first it will go straight to the go 4 app so DJI approves of this.
