I am a French Mavic user and I am planning a trip in California.
Is it possible for a foreigner to fly there ?
Are they specific registrations to do before my travel ?

@Top Hat , new here, how does one go about doing that? what are the "benefits" by doing so? or the repercussions of not doing.

Go to FAA.gov website directly and register, it's the law and it's only $5. No big deal I guess if you don't register but to be legal and if you want to follow the law then do it.

Skyhawk, you won't be able download the B4Ufly app (at least for iOS) unless your device is US registered. Get the "Hover App" instead, it works very well. Also some very good information here... DJI GEO System - Up-to-date Information On Where to Fly
