This is an interesting article in EETimes about how DJI utilizes the Movidius Myriad 2 processor inside the Spark. Looks like they decided not to use a separate ISP (Ambarella A9 in the Mavic's case) and instead rely on the Myriad 2 for image processing as well, to lower cost and power requirements. No doubt that required significant software changes.
I'm not sure how different the camera pipeline is, but it gives me some hope that the Mavic could get some of the Spark's new Intelligent Flight Modes.
