3 Miami Sunset from Brittany Bay

This is a manual panorama from Brittany Bay in Miami, looking towards Miami Downtown in the distance. Had to use brackets--no choice when the Sun is in the frame. 24 individual frames to make up the pano. I also shot it again after sunset, but I prefer this one.

I think one thing I'm learning is being really high is worse. You feel disconnected with things on the ground, and you lose some of the perspective. I'm working on a 32x9 version for my ridiculous monitor.

Very nice, but I think you could have got a lot more out of it with a bit more post-processing. Also, I would have chosen different positions, one with more buildings in the foreground. Now my attention is a bit divided across the image. On the left the coastline with tower blocks, on the right the hotel with marina and in the middle the setting sun.

I think you're right the composition could be better. I could crop it so that the waterway on the left would lead the eye around the arc to downtown Miami, and use the artificial island as the foreground. That would give it a more standard aspect ratio. (Taking good 32x9 aspect ratio shots is hard, if that's the goal). I'll work up a version like that.

What else would you do in post?

I would bring up the middle intensity values. In Photoshop this would be sliding the middle triangle, to suit.
