Strange that they didn't get the authorized warrant in the first place before engaging the drone.
Seems like common sense.

I don't get the part where they were 'suspecting he was creating a nuisance'. If he was creating a nuisance, shouldn't they have known it rather than suspect it?

Here's my take. The fourth amendment most likely will not apply to civil suits, even if it's by the local municipality. Second, not sure how the pictures were taken (were they directly over the property or off the side? Makes a difference. Third, they can take satellite images of the ground in amazing detail for the smallest areas. Seems that would be the same thing. All in all, this is a LEO issue, not a concern for the commercial or recreational pilot.
