I have had problems getting quick transfer on my mini 2 to work on my new phone after updating the fly app...and have just discovered that if I switch location on on my phone it works...Would anyone happen to know why location would need to be on to transfer files or quick transfer...very strange?

What phone? On android Bluetooth LE is tied to Location services, and I believe BLE is used for discovery when initiating quick transfer.
I've noticed that lots of app developers require location services be enabled, even if there's no logical reason. It's definitely not specific to drone apps.
