Hello DJI Mini 2 pilots. I am on my 2nd Mini 2 this week. The first was returned due to what I thought was a defect with the lens. Having received a replacement, I have the exact same problem and am wondering if anyone else has the same? Look at the very bottom right where the white door frame meets the edge of the image. There is quite angular distortion. I appreciate it's not a major thing, and maybe others won't even notice, but it jumps out at me. I never had this issue with my Mini 1 or with my Mavic 2 Zoom. Have I had 2 faulty Mini 2's from the same bad batch, or do you have the same? Is it a limitation of the lens?

By the way, ignore the grey haired buffoon in the shot....

Looks like normal barrel distortion. All wide angle lenses have some of this. The DJI lenses are quite inexpensive and have this. Only a very few DLSR lenses with that angular coverage give less, and they cost over $1,000 generally.

Thanks for your reply. I'm not sure it is barrel distortion. I may be wrong, but that usually affects corners reasonably evenly and leads to a 'smooth' distortion shape. This is just one corner where suddenly things take on a very sudden oblique angle.

I suspect it’s a combination of the “Jello effect” inherent with rolling shutters (vs. mechanical shutters) and the fact that the 3:2 aspect uses the full, edge-to-edge, image sensor. Could have something to do with transition/algorithm from one frame to the next.

Have you updated firmware? There have been a few fixes for camera artifacts.

I had updated the firmware on Wednesday this week, but it has now upgraded to the very latest (last night). I went back to the retailer today (a DJI official dealer and drone specialist) and they tried it with one of their own and had the exact same issue. They've contacted DJI on my behalf. I'll keep you posted when I get a response, but for now this looks like a more general issue than just the ones I have had.
