Agree.All of this doesn't matter.
DJI want to sell to as many people as possible, which means under 250g in weight. The Mini 3 will (probably) be their main consumer item, with the others jogging around at various price points. That is, until the next drone appears, be that an air or whatever.
Then again, marketing suggests lower end, middle priced, high end, super luxury.
The Mini 2 isn't going anywhere, and will continue to be a part of the product line, and a strong seller.
The 3 looks like the first offering to fill out a higher performing offering with mid to upper tier functionality and camera capabilities. Not a direct competitor for the M3, but definitely will eat some of the M3 and A2S market.
My opinion is DJI will continue to develop a range of drones in the sub 250g space, since it's gonna be tough in the EU for anything heavier.
Wouldn't surprise me to see a Mini 4 with capability near the M3, full OA in all directions, 4/3 sensor, variable aperture. All under 250g, costing $2500 for FMC version.
If not the 4, then the 4 pro or the 5.
