I tried to use mini3pro for tracking my mountain biking activity yesterday, and it said the subject you have selected is not supported for ActiveTrack. I think it said something like only people or vehicles supported. Anyone else came across this before? I thought biking would be supported under ActiveTrack!

I ended up taking videos in other ways, not using activetrack. You can see it here: Videos - sanjay singh

I've successfully used active track on the mini3pro for mountain biking lots of times and have never had an issue. I don't think I did anything special - just went into the active track mode and drew a rectangle round myself on the controller screen, and then selected active track.

Have you managed to get active track to work for anything else?

Is it the gremlin in the RC? Sometimes mine won't let me draw the box around myself and, I think, you have to be several meters from the launched drone.

I've had it occasionally fail to 'lock' onto me if the contrast between me and my surroundings is poor. The drone camera needs to clearly be able to "see" you, literally.

I believe in my case I was too close to the drone. At my age all software gives me fits. I must touch the screen unknowingly because I'll look down and the camera view is gone. So far just tapping the screen brings the picture back. I have trouble with my cell phone too! There is a little guy living in it too!

When you use "follow me" with a car or tractor. Do you draw the box around the vehicle and then get into or on it? Or should you be in or on before drawing the box? Or doesn't it make any difference?

It will most likely make no difference, especially if the car/tractor has a closed in cab. The follow mode looks for an object and follows that. If the object changes shape/size/colour etc significantly then it may struggle to keep locked onto the intended target. If the tractor doesn't have a closed cab then you may be slightly better selecting the target with the driver already sitting on the tractor, so that the target continues to look the same. Another example of this is if you select a person, and then that person walks behind someone else there is a chance the tracking would then lock onto the 2nd person instead.
