New to this site…Need some help.

I fly about 80% over water both lake and ocean.

DO not plan on landing on water.

Just upgraded to mini 4 pro.

Only fly with Plus battery.

Is there a device that will allow recovery for a water crash needed for insurance claim.

Is there a device out there….

Do you mean a device to recover it from the bottom of a lake?
EDIT: look at post No. 9 !

First of all...

Anything extra attached to a Mini will be a significant handicap to the drone's flight and make it less able to deal with wind, especially if you already using the larger batteries.

If you insist... some alternatives below.

And a commercial alternative:

OBUOY - Life Jacket for your drone™

Possibly a Phantomrain wetsuit. It will add some weight to the mini, which are a little whimpy to begin with. They will keep it from sinking and alow for recovery. Check them out on the web and see what they offer for your model.

For some years now I have used floats for my Mavic 2 Zoom (Mavic 2 Zoom Floats) and Spark, both built by a guy in Canada. Mine are black and have worked fine. Though I seldom land on water, I have on occasion while in my kayak. You may contact the guy to see if he makes them for the Mine 4 Pro.

Though I do not like this design here is another alternative on Amazon: Mini 4 Floats They can also be found on EBay and other places.

I am primarily interested in recovery in case it takes a dunk. I do have State Farm insurance for both drones.

Thanks for the insight.
I was surprised to see a DYI design from sub250g.com that provides solutions beyond just a float device. After reviewing the DYI instructions they provide, I decided it was cheaper to purchase a unit than procure all the correct items to DIY it. Once I receive it I will see if it is as good as it looks.
Side note I researched the OBUOY unit and am concerned that it is only rated for 250g. Additionally the images show it only floating at the surface with nothing floating above water. I like the fact that this unit is a bright yellow color. I emailed the sub-250g.com site and they informed me that 1/3 of the float will be above water with a 300g load. They said that they will be adding some additional image to there site in the future. They also informed me that the OBUOY mounting system covers all the lower vents needed for cooling and that the Styrofoam used is not uv stabilized and deteriorate from the sun.
I also looked at the phantom rain product and decided that it is too big and expensive.
Without testing I like the fact that this unit is so small it will easily fit in my drone bag and I can now easily use it for hand launch and recovery.
The drawback to the design may be, wind resistance, as we all know the mini drones due to there light weight do not do well in strong wind.
Again thanks for the insight.

The Obuoy Life Jacket is also sold here on Amazon.
