Hi,
3rd outing with my Mini pro4.
The first flight was good, I was learning to steer round trees etc.
Second flight, I decided to go along a kind of clear tube in the trees, and into a field, then when I turned round. Just then the low battery warning sounded. I couldn't find the tube, so I tried to go over the top of the trees, but I'd set the altitude too low, so I tried to make my way back though holes, but hit something, and lost it. I tried the last location, and the 'make a sound' app, but it wouldn't contact the drone, and I couldn't find it.

Looking at the handset, it has video of the event, so I should be able to go to where the video ends.
Cheers, C :(

Ouch, hope you find it 🙏

Is it raining where you are?

The log gurus may chime in to help find your drone and what went wrong during the flight.

I had something similar happen to mine. I was filing above a creek bed in the woods when the low battery alarm on mind sounded and it tried to RTH ( home was ten feet away ). My M4P danced a jig trying to find its way around the numerous branches that were in that area, it was actually kind of impressive. Eventually I was able to get control of it and guide it down safely.

That episode gave me some confidence in its obstacle avoidance ability and I had it " follow me " around my property. OA failed during that walk unfortunately. No damage was done, but I won't be doing that again, and once the timer tells me I have 10-12 minutes of flight left, it's coming home.

Hi G,
I presume there's a setting for return to home time, I haven't found it yet.

Anyway, I followed the video, and where I was searching yesterday was a long way away. Once I'd learned the trees where I crashed, I found them, and saw the tree I reversed into, and beat my way to it and picked it up.

Here's a photo, so you can see, it needed careful repeat video viewing to pin point it.

Thanks all. I look into that link that was posted, explaining logs etc, thanks.
Cheers, C.Drone.jpg

Hi M,
I aim for simplicity in my life, and another site to look at turns me off.
I looked at the saved files on the SD card, and opened one of them with WordPad, and there were the coordinates. I could see that coordinates stopped being received, as it was falling, so the dying seconds weren't there.
Anyway, I'll put the last shown ones into a satnav, and see how near it takes me.

This may be a win win, as I lost my close up glasses somewhere, and they may be where I bent down to pick up the drone? :)

You could bumble around on your own or you could get help.
Post #4 told you how, but you don't seem really interested.

Hi M,
I previously said that I would look into post #4, but in case of bad weather I bumbled around on my own, and found my drone using video.
I found the file with the coordinates, on the SD card, and will see how near the last one is to where I found the drone.

What was the file on the SD card?
Usually the file you would need is in the controller or the phone/tablet you use for controllers without integrated screens.
That gives far more information than just location data and is very helpful in solving flight incidents as well as finding lost drones.
If the drone fell from the air while flying, the last location received won't be where the drone ended up.

Hi M,
It was the .SRT file.
I only needed to know where it was in a hurry.

I also said that I would look into #4

The return to home time is a moveable number dependant on how far away from the home point the drone is and the remaining battery level. The further away from the home point, the sooner the RTH setting kicks in. Of course if you are stupid enough to override the RTH you’ll be fighting to keep the drone up when you eventually bring the drone home. If you are doubly stupid you’ll be doing that after flying away down wind, and fail due to the headwind during RTH.

Hi B,
Is the moveable number set by the operator? If, where do I set it?

I had to override the RTH, because the drone couldn't move, because of the settings, I'd fixed, and I had to find a hole in the foliage to come down through. I found one, and only crashed reversing on to a tree a few feet off the ferns, in the photo.. Only 3rd time out, and the battery allarm was alarming.

I won't go out in a wind, until I'm more proficiant.

Thanks C.

That's a subtitle file that will show some of the flight data for the associated video file, not for the whole flight.

It's not user-configurable.

When you are proficient, you'll know not to fly under tree cover.

I think at 10%, it's time to come home.
I don't trust the readings on the batteries as the usage is based on current power consumption and returning to home can take more than current.
