I've never used my Mavic 2 Zoom with DroneDeploy (only my P4P). I noticed a couple of things.

When I used the DJI Go 4 App on my Android (9) phone (LG V30) a bunch of the settings are missing! They show up using the crystal sky control but I need to use my phone so I can run DroneDeploy, When you click the 3 dots in the upper right there's only the remote settings and the three dots, everything else is missing? It also doesn't give me the option to calibrate the compass amongst many other missing features.

The other issue is I was in a location that was in LAANC so the controller was indicating a No Fly Zone. I never received the pop-up to get unlock code so I could fly within LAANC. Maybe the YouTube video I saw was outdated? This was the case with either controller (crystal sky or phone). What's the process to unlock for flying in LAANC areas?

I've noticed on my SmartController, also Android based, that some settings are unavailable unless the drone is connected. One of those is Unlock Licensing, which is extremely annoying as it's all web based and doesn't actually need the drone for anything. You should be able to pull the unlock authorization from DJI's servers with just the controller, IMO. You have to import it to the aircraft later anyway.

To unlock, I just visit dji.com/flysafe before I'm going out. Click Unlock a Zone and go to the Self Unlocking tab. Enter your drone model and then use the map search function to find your flight location. Click on the red map pin for the associated zone and enter your flight controller serial number off the drone. You can pick a date or just leave it current. It will unlock for 3 days. Remember that if you're in controlled airspace, you also need FAA clearance via a LAANC provider like Kittyhawk, AirMap, etc. For me, that happens nearly instantaneously when I submit it. Whole process rarely takes me more than 5 minutes.

You still need to connect the AC to complete the unlock. Since the flight controller sn is different from the RC sn, it's best to get that from the app. It may even be the FC in the AC, which means you need the AC connected.

One reason to save a swollen battery. Use it to do the ground stuff and save your good batteries for actually flying.

The FC serial number is on the aircraft too, at least on my Mavic 2 Pro. It's on a sticker on one of the motor arms. I made a note of it on my tablet and PC so I can just cut and paste it into the FlySafe web page.

Yes, you must be connected to the aircraft to import the unlock license to the drone but what I was getting at is that there is no reason you should have to be connected to the drone to get the license onto the remote, as that is a web-based operation. I'd like to see them redesign that so you could simply download your active unlock licenses onto the remote via your internet connection at any time, then upload it to the drone at the flight location.

I assume you mean the app. Once in the app, next step is to upload it to the AC. App probably needs to verify it is associated with the authorized AC. Granted that could be cached and subsequently verified at last step. However if that last verification were to fail in field with no internet, that would frustrate lots of pilots. Best to upload all the way to the AC ahead of time.
