I am sorry if this question has been previously answered.

I get the LAANC approval on my iPhone, but I fail to get the DJI approval to unlock the Mini 4 Pro controller. Tried several times and watched videos. But so far the ones I have seen gloss over the critical step, or I have missed it.

Please help with step-by-step instructions.

Thanks in advance.

How are you trying to get DJI's approval?
From my experience it is best to get the unlock code from home on a PC before hitting the site.

I wait in anticipation on this one. It's been a long time since I tryed getting my Mavic 2 Pro up in a restricted air space. All the hoops and loops a pilot has to go through discouraged me a lot.

I don’t mean to get too basic, but the LAANC approval is independent of getting DJI approval via an unlock. You need both to take off in controlled airspace - DJI to let the drone fly, and LAANC to make it legal to fly.

I went for several years with no problems launching, and then all of a sudden I couldn’t fly. Do the unlocking at home in a WIFI environment, and open the app on your controller, and the license should be there. In my case, SOMEHOW I got logged out of my DJI account, and that was the problem. I thought that I had to open a browser on the controller to log into DJI’s website, but that’s not it. I don’t even remember how I did it, or where the button/menu item is, but there’s a login prompt for your account, not the DJI website. Find that, while in a WiFi environment, and the license should transfer to the controller. Then when you start up the drone, use the three dots in the upper right corner to bring up the menu and scroll down to “Unlocking license” and transfer it to the aircraft.

Next time I fly I will check and get more specific if it still doesn’t work for you.

Thank you so much for explaining this....I've struggled also and have mostly given up trying to get the Mavic 2 in the air in controlled airspace..
Wish it would be easier with the Fly app instead of the Go4 app.

Don’t forget to also upgrade your firmware to get the Mavic 2 RID compliant - another requirement to fly legally.
