MM rc not connected

hello, I had mavic mini and I wanna used my iPad 11 pro. I bought a wire from drone pit stop to connect to my rc when I try it the iPad is not connected to my rc. Any suggestion? And I notice that the micro usb in my rc has a little crack is that normal? thanks
