your device is too old and the CPU is not able to keep up with everything the Fly app is asking it to do. Disabling video caching might help with this (but you'll no longer have the low-resolution video files in your Fly app)

I get this error message when the Ipad Mini 4 starts up with DJI Fly, but it goes away and does not reappear in flight.
I turn off caching to the device to reduce the cpu load

You could also try turning off all of the optional camera settings like the histogram and over exposure warning in DJI Fly

Turn off all background apps, cellular / WiFi connections and make sure that the phone is not hot. The OS will slow down the CPU if the temperature is too high.

I have been using the 6s plus, it seems the turning cache off sorted my CPU issue.

It seems like the problem has come with the update, I haven't noticed it before. I have tested in Air plane mode and cache off but no difference. ?

I had the issue once on my iPad Mini before the recent update. What did the trick for me was closing all running windows by double clicking the home button and dragging them off the screen.

Problem hasn’t shown up again.

iOS never completely stops apps running in the background. Double click the home button, and swipe up on all the apps you don’t need for flying.

Luckily i have my pro max to fall back on if i do get any issues down the line. I would prefer to use this older 6s plus as a dedicated screen. I upgraded my daughters phone to the XR, so this 6s plus was surplus and not worth selling. Other than the DJI app, there is nothing on it other than the standard apple apps that come with IOS. Once this holder arrives, i am going to try the ipad air 2 out(maybe pushing it with this........soon find out). I would say the ipad mini 5 would be a good all round choice, screen size and performance. I just dont want to drop a chunk of money on a screen, more so with the little use i am getting thanks to UK weather!

Hi, I use iPhone6 (meaning, even slower than 6S) and as soon phone is in an Airplane mode, I do not get CPU overload messages. Also I make sure phone is fully charged, because if my iPhone is like below 30% charged, it slows its CPU.

That isn’t really true, after a minute or so backgrounded apps are put in a frozen state (so that they can be quickly resumed) and unloaded from ram.
Just because you can see them in the task switcher doesn’t mean they’re running or taking up resources.

Flight Mode only turns off the radio transceivers - Bluetooth, WiFi and Cellular.

I fly in airplane mode so there are no distractions such as messages or phone calls that might come at a critical time in flight.

Okay well, does finding my drone work if the accident is in Air plane mode?

Your drone is found using gps and is connected to the rc . Wifi is not involved. Your homepoint map is used.
