Just retired three of mine... this is NOT normal, or should not be, but 3 of my original batteries (July 2018 mfg date) puffed (swelled) on me even with good care and no abuse just a few weeks ago. They all had only 39 to 52 charge cycles. Reminds me of the old Phantom 2 days when batteries puffed regularly... bummed and pissed :-(
Obviously DJI soon knew they had a problem when they changed the default days to auto-discharge from the original 10 days they had for years and with several models down to the current 5 days.
Originally the days to discharge couldn't be changed on the M2.
DJI started being more reasonable too late for me. I already replaced my first original three batteries, and broke open the worst one. Any one of them still holds a full charge so they can be used for ground work, field warm up or very cautious low altitude test flights.
Does anybody know if a safety strap is available for sale anywhere I need to get oneI think the days to discharge was shortened to two days on the M2 with the last firmware update. Changeable if needed.
